FLORAL/GROUNDS POLICY
We welcome and encourage fresh-cut flowers throughout the year.
The cemetery supplies temporary vases for visitors to use when placing flowers at a gravesite. The vases are located in receptacles throughout the cemetery. Water is also available at that same location. Flowers will be removed from gravesites and disposed of by cemetery personnel when they become withered, faded, or otherwise unsightly. They also may be removed for routine mowing or other maintenance.
Artificial flowers are only allowed after the end of mowing operations in the fall on October 10 and must be removed when mowing operations resume in the spring on April 15.
On Easter and Memorial Day, potted plants and artificial flowers may be placed on gravesites 10 days before through 10 days following the holiday. During the holiday season, from December 1 through January 20, seasonal floral items and gravesite blankets (2’ x 3’) may be placed on gravesites.
To maintain the dignity of the cemetery and for the safety of the cemetery personnel; flags, commemorative items, balloons, pinwheels, beads, wires, wind chimes, glass items, votive lights, statues, shepherd’s hooks; permanent plantings and items exceeding the height of the headstones, among other items, are not allowed.
Floral items and other types of decorations cannot be secured to the headstones or niche covers. Unauthorized items will be removed and discarded.
Visitors requiring assistance to visit gravesites can stop in the office during normal office hours and request to be transported to the gravesite. back to top
