9/11 Remembrance
VA Remembers 9/11
On September 11, 2001, terrorists flew commercial airliners into the World Trade Center buildings, the Pentagon, and downed Flight 93 in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. There were 2,977 American lives lost, almost 600 more than Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. NCA holds the remembrance of 9/11 as a sacred trust to always honor.
Forty-one Veterans and six family members of Veterans were laid to rest at VA national cemeteries. NCA invites you to remember these Veterans and family members by visiting their Veterans Legacy Memorial pages where you can post tributes, upload images, and share biographical information, historical documents and more.
